Turning an everyday celebration into a fundraiser is an easy way to create a lasting impact on children in our community. Next time you’re hosting an event, celebration, or get together, ask your guests to make a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region in lieu of bringing a gift. These financial gifts will have a significant impact on our ability to serve the children on our waitlist and foster meaningful, healthy Mentoring relationships.

Workplace Event Ideas

| Holiday Party | Throw a work holiday party with proceeds supporting BBBSWR! Ugly Christmas sweaters, scary Halloween costumes, Valentine’s grams, the works! |
| Bake Sale | Bring in muffins, cookies and coffees for the team. They can’t have any without a donation! |
| Staff BBQ | Throw a staff lunch! Whether you spark up the grill or order in some pizza, have your staff pitch in and donate any extra! |
| Team-Building Outing | Treat your team to a fun event like an escape room, axe throwing, arcade, picnic, or a sports game! Whoever donates can take the day off work and attend! |

| Movie Screening | Have you ever watched a movie in a park? What an experience! Bring your own popcorn and drinks or buy some there–the proceeds support local youth! |
| Arts & Crafts | Are you artistic and talented? Host a painting class or jewellery workshop! |
| Food Festival | Grab your neighbours and get your grill on for a great cause! |
| Farmer’s Market | Everybody loves garden-fresh food! |
| Auction | Whether it’s a community garage sale or an auction at a sanctioned event with dedicated donors, sell some items and raise some funds! |

- Let us know you’re hosting an event and we’ll provide information for your guests so they can see the difference their donation will make.
