Please note that our Big Brothers, Big Sisters 1:1 Programs are currently paused for new applications as we prioritize our school based mentors for the new school year.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Our 1:1 Mentoring Program matches children and youth with an adult Mentor to hangout, connect and talk with throughout the year. The goal is for children and youth to become empowered to live their potential.

    Volunteer Requirements:
  • 1-year commitment
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • 2 meetings/month minimum
  • Evening and weekend availability
In-School Mentoring

In-School Mentoring provides elementary students who could benefit from extra emotional, social or academic support, with a caring adult Mentor. The goal is for students to become engaged, connected and confident members of their school and community. Mentors will be matched at a local elementary school.

    Volunteer Requirements:
  • Able to commit between Sept-June for a minimum of 4 months
  • 1 hour/week
  • Day time availability between Mon-Fri
School Based Groups

School Based Groups (Go Girls/Game On! are designed for youth ages 11-14 years-old to provide them with information to help make informed choices about healthy, active living.

You will co-lead a group of 8-12 students alongside another volunteer. Each session takes place on school property during the school day and focuses on promoting healthy living. Program manuals and training are provided. Mentors will be matched at a local elementary school. Through regular group sessions, a relationship is developed between the Mentors and the youth, built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced Program Coordinators. The result is a life-changing experience for both the volunteer Mentors and children.

    Volunteer Requirements:
  • Able to commit between Sept-June for a minimum of 1, 7-week session
  • 2 hours/week
  • Day time availability, Mon-Fri
Big Bunch

Big Bunch provides children and youth with mentoring support through group-based recreational programming. By participating in recreational activities children and youth develop self-esteem and social skills. Additionally, our mentees will have the opportunity to have access to positive mentorship while waiting for a One-to-One match.

    Volunteer Requirements:
  • 12 – week minimum commitment
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Participate in 2 – 6 week sessions
  • Evening and weekend availability
